Afrobeat artiste Kelvyn Boy says he respects and recognises Songstress Wendy Shay as the ‘Best New Artiste’, an award she won at the recently held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Speaking on Accra-based on Friday on Hitz FM, the Burniton Music Group signee reiterated that he has no issue with Wendy Shay for him to have a beef with her, saying "I will not jab a female artiste".“She is the Best New Artiste and I respect that fact. if I am going to beef, I’m not going beef with a woman,” he said.
When asked about what he makes of Bullet's (Wendy Shay's Manager) swipe at him on social media the "LaLai" hitmaker, said he believes the action was occasioned by "insecurity" on the part of the latter.
Background
Some months ago, Kelvyn Boy was seen in a viral video snubbing Wendy Shay when she tried to shake his hands during a peace conference organised to bring peace between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy following the fracas that ensued between the two dancehall artists at the VGMA.
But Kelvyn Boy said the incident was not intentional, adding that he has no issue with Wendy Shay.
Wendy Shay won the VGMA "New Artist of the Year" category beating off competition from Kelvyn Boy.
